Uniform

School uniform plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of a school and setting the tone for learning. It can help to:
•  Encourage a sense of pride in the school
•  Support positive behaviour and discipline
•  Encourage identity with, and support for, school ethos
•  Ensure pupils of all races and backgrounds feel welcome
•  Protect children from social pressures to dress in a particular way.

Designed to ensure all students are dressed suitably and safely for all lessons/activities in school including practical lessons.

Following feedback from parents we have introduced an online ordering system via our suppliers, RAM leisure in Wrexham. This means parents can order direct for delivery to home and can order at times convenient to them rather than waiting for the school to bulk order.

Look Smart, Work Smart – UNIFORM

We expect all our students to arrive at school prepared for the day’s lessons. They will need to bring a school bag containing at least their planner, two pens, two pencils, ruler, eraser, a protractor, compass and scientific calculator.

Students are expected to have a work like appearance – For health and safety reasons and the potential risk of loss, school discourages the wearing of any jewellery for pupils. The ONLY jewellery pupils are permitted to wear are one small pair of stud earrings, a watch , and one necklace that should be tucked inside shirts, or any religious adornment. They must be removed for PE and practical lessons.

SMART WATCHES ARE NOT PERMITTED

Facial piercing is not permitted.

Hair should be of a natural monochrome colour. Hair should be no shorter than a ‘grade 2’ and without ‘tramlines’. Long hair should be tied back in practical lessons. It is a student’s responsibility to have bobbles to tie back long hair whenever directed by a member of staff for practical activities. Hair bands should be in school colour (black or purple). If students do wish to wear makeup this should be ‘natural’. No artificial eyelashes or eyelash extensions are permitted.

Acrylic or gel nails are not appropriate for school and are NOT PERMITTED - they hinder students in practical lessons and are a health and safety issue. Natural nails should be short. No nail polish is acceptable when your child is studying Food Technology.

Footwear should be plain black leather type shoes with black laces if worn. No branded footwear is acceptable. Ballet pumps without a fastening or strap are not permitted, they are not a safe footwear in a practical classroom.   Trainers, and canvas style shoes are not acceptable – see downloads at the end of the page for examples.
